Alan D. Chasan (Founder/Managing Partner) brings over 45 years experience in all facets of Real Estate Development expertise to his clients’ projects. His breadth of knowledge encompasses Architecture, Urban Design, Zoning & Codes, Engineering, Construction Administration, Finance, Marketing, Sales & Rental Strategies and Analyses, Building Valuation, Asset Management, Property Management and Facility Planning and Operations.
His work experience has been worldwide including Europe and the mid-east as well as multiple states in the US.
With this in-depth knowledge of the multi-faceted development process, he is highly qualified in identifying development and re-development potentials for both existing buildings and ground-up developments, and in identifying, forming and managing the multi-disciplined team of consultants specifically required to obtain the most efficient end-results.
Mr. Chasan was a pioneer in the development of commercial office buildings’ measurement in New York Commercial Properties and has been called in as a consultant for certifying calculations as well as planning large-scale commercial office buildings in the initial stages of development.
As the founding principal of his own firm in 1985, Mr. Chasan performed Acquisition Due Diligence and Analysis, Property Conditions Assessments and Feasibility Studies for over $2.5 Billion of Real Property and was directly responsible for preparing Capital Improvement Programs and Budgets for over $650 million of Capital construction projects, successfully completing Development/Project Management for over $300 million of these CIP’s for clients such as Max Capital’s 8 million SF Manhattan portfolio and 500,000 SF Data Center in Newburgh, Grasso Holding Company’s residential Condominium Projects; Mitsui Fudosan’s 1251 Avenue of the Americas Building; New York Institute for Special Education Campus Expansion Program; Moore Capital Management; Daniel Boulud’s five-star restaurants, Harrison Ford’s Residential remediation project and various high-end residential projects in Manhattan and Spain.
As Development Supervision Advisor to Meridian Capital (UK), for five years, he was instrumental in the successful pre-development and acquisition activities for the 750,000 SF International Gem Tower, now nearing completion and the assemblage and development Strategies for the adjacent Gem Tower Two project of 2 million SF. Mr. Chasan has provided Real Estate Advisory Services to the Government of Spain, the Czech Republic and Rutgers University, among other institutional clients, in their Real Estate expansion Programs. His work in Europe and the Mid-East encompassed multiple mixed-use projects as well as large-scale Urban Planning projects.
He has performed numerous Building Due Diligence and Property Conditions Assessment studies for investors throughout the New York and Tri-State area. Mr. Chasan is a qualified expert witness in Development Management, Construction Project Management and Architectural Services.
Mr. Chasan received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Florida in 1966 and completed the Masters Program in Architecture and Urban Design at Washington University in 1967. He is a Licensed Architect in the State of New York. In addition, he is a 1987 graduate of the New York University Real Estate Institute Diploma Program in Real Estate Investment Analysis.
Adam Chasan has returned to Chasan Group as IT Director and Administrative Project Manager. In this role, Adam is responsible for all Project Budget and communications controls for all Chasan Group Projects.
Previously Adam developed a distinguished career in IT and Project Management for Conde Nast Traveler Magazine, Marie Claire, Disney-Hyperion and several years at Mitsui Fudosan developing their database software. His dedication to the meticulous management of data and Project Team communications provides the underpinnings of CG’s successful Project Management capabilities.
